Fourthwalling: King's Quest canon actually recognizes the "real" world and explains the mishmash of fantastical elements (like the presence of Shakespeare, Count Dracula, and, er. Call of Cthulhu...) as having come along when the residents of Daventry withdrew from their source world. Please feel free to contact me if you want to recognize Rosella as an 80s adventure game character, I think it'd be hilarious to play around with this.
